7. Sylvia Robinson
Singer, songwriter and record producer, Sylvia Robinson, died there of congestive heart failure in Edison, Nj at the young age of 75. Sylvia Robinson, along with her husband, Joe Robinson formed the pioneering hip-hop group Sugarhill Gang and made the first commercially successful rap recording with the group. Ms. Robinson also signed Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.
