According to a report from The Huffington Post, several magazines have reached out to the Carters to purchase rights to the couple’s first public baby pictures, but neither Bey nor Jay seem interested in the offers.
“They are one of the most private couples,” one magazine editor explained 0to the Huffington Post. “We have made several offers to their people about running exclusive images of mother and baby and no one has responded.”
The editor speculated that perhaps Jay and Bey will opt for a different photo option, one that won’t yield a payday, but will offer them greater publicity.
“If Beyoncé and Jay-Z do decide to share their child with the world, they will probably go the same route as Tom Cruise and Katie [Holmes],” the editor explains. “Instead of selling the images to a weekly publication, they would give them away for nothing to lock in a cover of a monthly like Vanity Fair. But knowing this couple, it is unlikely we will ever see a staged picture of the child.”
Vanity Fair, of course, hasn’t commented on the idea. It’s not surprising though that Bey and Jay are assumedly hesitant about putting their baby in the spotlight. The couple has been famously mum about their own relationship ever since it began in 2003. And even when they wed in 2008, the couple didn’t confirm their nuptials till later in the year, despite several monetary offers from publications to break the news.
“Everyone reached out to the couple to buy wedding pictures and they refused,” an industry insider revealed. “They have an estimated net worth of over $700 million. It’s not like they need the money.”
Indeed, the Carters surely aren’t hurting for cash. So, it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see if they’ll keep their baby under wraps or let the babe shine in the limelight. If they do, they can surely command a gargantuan payday like the five other celebrity parents we have listed below. Check them out. –nicholas robinson
