UPDATED: After one of the most anticipated pregnancies in the history of pop culture, Beyoncé has officially delivered a baby girl at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
Queen Bey and hubby Jay-Z checked into the Upper East Side hospital Friday night under the alias “Ingrid Jackson,” according to a hospital staffer.
The power couple rented out the entire fourth floor for $1.3 million, according to a hospital employee, taping over security cameras and forcing employees to turn off their cell phones.
According to E Online, the Carter’s have named their baby girl …
Blue Ivy Carter! (At least that’s what Jay-Z is telling pals at this point — the couple’s reps have not immediately responded to calls seeking comment.)
Celebrities like Rihanna, Russell Simmons, Gwyneth Paltrow and Solange Knowles took to their Twitter accounts to announce the great news.
Speculation about the babies name being Blue, may stem from the rappers favorite color. Jay once rhymed “My favorite hue is Jay-Z blue.” He also named his albums “Blue Magic” and “The Blueprint.” Her middle name Ivy is said to stand for the roman numerals IV or “four,” which is Beyonce’s favorite number as well as the date the couple was married.
Rolling out will keep you posted with post Carter baby news. It’s only a matter of time before the first photos of the baby surface. But until then, check out more pregnancy photos of Beyonce.
