Volunteers will spend time roving the memorial and interacting with visitors from all over the world, who have come to learn more about the man and the Civil Rights movement of which he was a part. Volunteers interact with visitors and assist park rangers in answering questions, giving talks, and leading tours of the monuments and memorials
Clean Up Soapstone Valley Albemarle St. NW and 32nd St. NW Washington, D.C.

Come help clean up Soapstone Valley in Van Ness to celebrate the Martin Luther King Day of Service on Jan. 16. Hot Chocolate and snacks will be served.
Meet at the north entrance to Soapstone Valley Park, located on Albemarle St. NW near 32nd St. NW, just off Connecticut Ave. at 1 p.m. Come dressed warmly and prepared for light manual labor; gloves and bags will be provided. Contact Braeden Bumpers with any questions. Clean-up happens as scheduled, barring severe winter weather.
Operation Oliver – MLK Day Service Project 2738 E. Baltimore St. Baltimore, MD

This will be the first major project of the new year. Volunteers will beautify and spruce up the Oliver neighborhood. Also enjoy a community tour of Oliver and learn more about the Operation Oliver initiative. Tools will be provided.

Everyone Can Serve: Day of Service presented by the Banneker-Douglass Museum and the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County will be held on MLK Jr. Day. Families and individual volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on volunteer projects organized by several community organizations.

Help clean-up and remove trash in Mathew Henson Park off Viers Mill Road. in the Aspen Hill/Wheaton area for the MLK day of service. We will be working from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., gloves and bags provided. Meet at the intersection of Turkey Branch Parkway and Adrian Street.

Join hundreds of other volunteers in service projects such as making sandwiches, decorating cards for troops, and assembling fleece blankets.
