Hip-hop’s original superstar fashion mogul, Russell Simmons launched Phat Fashions empire in 1992, mixing street wear with the casual upper crest style through his Phat Farm line. By 2004, Simmons sold his company for a reported $140 million and three years later, stepped down as CEO, leaving his then-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, to take the lead. Simmons later went on to helm the fashion brands Argyle Culture and American Classics.
