Waka Flocka, Drake Film 'Round of Applause' Video: Behind-the-Scenes Photos

Waka Flocka returned to Atlanta to film the video for his new hit, “Round of Applause.” The song, produced by Lex Luger, features Drake and has become an anthem for strippers.

But Waka Flocka and director, Mr. Boomtown, wanted to add a story line to the video.

Rolling out magazine was on hand as Waka Flocka filmed “Round of Applause” in Atlanta’s West End section and Diamonds of Atlanta. During the shoot, Waka Flocka took a moment to chat about the video and song. –amir shaw

What is the concept of the video?

I had to make the video family friendly. I’m getting my old girl back after years of being a part.  The girl who is playing the leading role is Draya. This scene flashes back to when we were kids and I couldn’t afford much. We meet again as adults and that love is still there.

How did the Drake collaboration come about?

Getting Drake was simply a phone call. I texted him and told him I had a crazy song.  I sent him the MP3 and it was done in a few weeks. It was easy.

What has been the impact of the song thus far?

The impact is like “O Let’s Do It.” People are going crazy for the song when they hear it in the club. This video will add another element to it.
