7. Marilyn Monroe, 1926-1962
On Aug. 5, 1962, housekeeper Eunice Murray discovered her boss, the beautiful actress Marilyn Monroe, naked and dead on the bed, lying on top of her telephone. The 36-year-old Monroe had been fired from the movie studio, shunned by her lover, Robert F. Kennedy, and may have overdosed on sleeping pills. Conspiracy theorists still believe there was foul play involved. The official story is that Marilyn Monroe committed suicide.
