Amar’e Stoudemire, all-star forward for the New York Knicks, is outof play indefinitely with a problematic disc in his back. It appears that the Knicks can’t go a full week without some sort of bad news rummaging through the press. New York announced before yesterday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks that Stoudemire won’t be suiting up anytime soon. He injured his back in Saturday’s win over Detroit and will undergo treatment and therapy before reevaluation. To make things worse, Jeremy Lin sat out last night as a precautionary measure for a sore knee. However, with Carmelo Anthony leading the charge, the Knicks were able to pull out a win at home against the Bucks, and they now have a 2 1/2 game lead for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.
