A group of black Harvard students recognized Jada Pinkett Smith this past weekend for her success as an actress, producer, director and singer-songwriter.

The Harvard Black Men’s Forum held their 18th annual Celebration of Black Women and named the wife of Will Smith “Woman of the Year.”

According to The Crimson, the official paper for the institution, rather than give a formal acceptance speech Pinkett Smith encouraged students to ask her questions. In one response she noted that she’s made it a point to show other black women that they have unlimited potential.

“I’ve strived to show that we can be and do anything that we want,” she said.

Female members of Harvard’s black student population were also recognized for their academic achievements.
