Chris Brown and Jay-Z
Even more important than Rihanna’s relationship with Def Jam founder, Russell Simmons, is her relationship with Jay-Z, who gave the star her first deal on the label. Since then, the two have shared a special bond and after news broke of her violent abuse from Chris, rumors began to fly that Jay refused to support Chris or show up at any of his events. Though, Jay has never publically spoken out against Brown, the two haven’t been spotted together in recent times, and in 2009, Chris claimed, “I don’t care what he [Jay-Z] does. My life isn’t focused on Jay-Z.”
