Wesley Snipes in To Wong Foo:
Snipes is a Hollywood rarity. Other than Oscar-winner Sidney Poitier, there had never been a dark-skinned black man who ruled over Hollywood filmmaking, albeit temporarily. To Wong Foo, also starring Patrick Swayze, was such a departure from career-making New Jack City, Mo Better Blues, Passenger 57 and Murder at 1600 that urban movie fans has a hard time accepting Snipes in this role.
