Brown Performs at Billboard
Chris Brown took to the stage at last night’s Billboard Music Awards to perform his latest hit. Brown, dressed in fitted jeans and a bandanna, was joined by an army of dancers and BMX bikers who took to the so-called “fun zone” for his high-energy performance. The singer was obviously focused on landing his dance moves, so much so that he noticeably lip synched to the track. While most fans didn’t seem to mind however, Brown was slammed subtly by singer Pink who tweeted, “One day if I lip-sync, I hope I do it as well as him.” He later responded to her diss and wrote back on the social network, “Must be too bright outside! I’m finding the “shade” and keeping cool! Love and blessings!”
Although Pink noticed his singing or lack thereof, others might have noted that Brown’s collaborator on the track was noticeably absent. “Turn Up the Music” was one of two songs released by Brown earlier this year that featured his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. Rihanna was not present for the performance and was actually out of the country at London’s O2 area for Kanye and Jay-Z’s “Watch The Throne” tour. If she had been in town for the awards, it’s doubtful she’d have performed with Brown; the pair had a public falling out earlier this month when Rihanna took offense to a Brown lyric she thought she was dissing her.
