Zimmerman To Report To Florida Jail

George Zimmerman has 48 hours to turn himself in to authorities now that a judge has revoked his bond. Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watchman who fatally shot Trayvon Martin, will no longer be free per a motion filed by the prosecution. Prosecutors accused Zimmerman of “deceiving” the court about his finances and possessing a second passport. As previously reported, Zimmerman has been receiving money from supporters through a Paypal account. Additionally, prosecutors alleged that he acquired a second passport just two weeks after killing Martin amid claims that it was lost or stolen.

“The court was led to believe that they didn’t have a single penny,” said prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda about Zimmerman’s finances. “If this [the money] wasn’t relevant to bond then why did they lie about it? I don’t know what other words to use besides that it was a blatant lie.”

Prosecutors played back a recording today of Zimmerman and his wife speaking on his secret second passport in code. The passport is believed to have been hidden in a safety deposit box and would replace the one a Judge previously ordered him to turn in. In addition to recordings on the passport, prosecutors played back a recording of Zimmerman’s wife depositing money from his Paypal account to a local credit union. They allege that she tried to downplay the amount in the couple’s accounts because she knew they were being watched.
