Kris Humphries contacted the FBI on June 8, claiming that his ex-girlfriend, Myla Sinanaj, is trying to extort him by demanding a large sum of money. She is allegedly threatening to release damaging information about their relationship to the media.
Humphries’ and Sinanaj’s lawyers were trying to get her to sign a nondisclosure agreement. Supposedly, she has emails, texts and other documents chronicling their relationship that could hurt Humphries if they became public.
After the two sides could not reach an agreement, Humphries’ attorneys decided to take it to the FBI.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened and certainly won’t be the last. Celebrities have come to accept this as an occupational hazard. Problem is, some of these accusations turn out to be very damaging, if not to their public image, then to the families involved.
