Paltrow Defended By Nas
Even weeks after Gwyneth Paltrow made headlines for tweeting the title of Jay-Z and Kanye’s Hit Boy produced anthem, she’s getting yet another celebrity supporter. According to rapper Nas, Paltrow’s tweet at the Paris date of the Watch The Throne tour was perfectly fine because she’s a real person. Furthermore she’s a real n—-” , in case you didn’t know.
“Gwyneth Paltrow is a real n—-,” the rapper told CBS Local. “I would slap the s*** out of somebody for Gwyneth Paltrow. She’s the homie, she’s cool. Gwyneth gets a pass. Real people get a pass.”
Likening the handing out of ‘n—– passes’ to people of Italian descent who call each other ‘wops,’ Nas says blacks can pick and choose who’s allowed to use the word at their own free will.
“We know what this s— is. We don’t interrupt Italians when they say ‘Wop’ to each other. They gonna punch you in the mouth if you interrupt that,” said Nas. “Don’t interrupt us. We pick and choose.”
“Some might not feel the same way,” he added. “Some of us will get angrier about it than others; but some people get a pass. The people that I know who are cool and real n—–, Gwyneth Paltrow is a real n—-, that’s my homie. That’s how I’m on it. Some people get a pass.”
Paltrow has also been given a pass by The Dream who publicly tried to cover for her by claiming that he wrote the controversial tweet from Paltrow’s phone. He later added when people continued to call him on his bluff, “N—- doesn’t have any power over me which is why this will be the last thing I say about it,” he wrote. “And actually Ni—az was in Paris! LOL”
Is Nas right? Can real n—– like Paltrow get a free pass? Or should it be limited to a race, even if it’s in a song? Check out a few non-blacks who consider themselves real enough to say n—- below.-danielle canada
