“We’re taking Siri beyond the iPhone 4S and we’re bringing it to the new iPad,” said Scott Forstall, Apple’s senior vice president of iPhone software, according to PC Magazine.
Siri was unveiled in November but it was only available on the on the iPhone 4S. That will soon change, Forstall promises.
Moreover, Apple said the Siri will have some upgrades when it comes out on the iOS 6, including movie reviews and ratings from Rotten Tomatoes and restaurant information via Yelp and Open Table. Additionally, Siri will be able to open apps on the iPad and iPhone when the operating system is released in the fall.
Even more exciting is the fact that Siri is said to be within a year of becoming a virtual passenger in cars. Apple is introducing “Eyes Free” automobile integration. Engadget reports that drivers will be able to control Siri using a button strategically placed on the steering wheels of select new cars.
