After starring in a number of lovey dovey films, rising romantic comedy star Meagan Good has finally jumped the broom herself. Good and her fiancé, Columbia Pictures VP DeVon Franklin, tied the knot on June 17 at Triunfo Creek Winery in Malibu, Calif.
According to PEOPLE, the “enchanted and dreamy sunset ceremony,” as Good described it , was Spanish and bayou-themed and had a guest list of 400 that included celebrities like Derek Luke, Tracy Edmonds, Deion Sanders and Tasha Smith.
“DeVon makes me better, makes my life fuller, and completes my quality of life,” said Good, gushing about her husband. “He’s truly on my team and I am truly on his. God revealed my heart to him like nobody else.”
And Franklin feels the same about his blushing bride. “I’ve never had more peace, fun, and joy than I’ve had with her,” said Franklin.
Good reportedly walked down the aisle to “These Arms,” performed by Jeffrey Lewis of the Craig Lewis Band. And as for the wedding attire, Good wore jewels by Beverly Hills’ Jason the Jeweler and a custom R-Mine gown with a dipped purple train.
“I didn’t want girly,” says Good of her dress. “I wanted handsome. It’s got a bit of a masculine feel to it. I wanted something that felt a tad bit rebellious and out of the ordinary. That felt closer to my personality.”
For the reception, singer Shanice performed “Loving You” while guests enjoyed a Southern Girl Desserts cake with flavors ranging from sweet potato, banana cream pie, and peach cobbler.
And though Good and Franklin are now happily married, don’t expect them to have any babies any time soon. The newlyweds plan to travel and “get to know each other as husband and wife,” said Franklin.
“We want to make sure that when we bring a child into this world we give it our full attention,” adds Good.
First up on their world travels is a Mini-moon at Big Sur, followed by a full honeymoon around the holidays, after Good wraps filming on her NBC show, “Infamous.”
“There is so much going on,” said Good. “But it’s wonderful to have a partner to have so much fun with!”
