The tragedy surrounding Tameka Raymond’s son is continuing to affect her friends and family alike, the latest being the child’s stepfather. Usher Raymond, 33, is reportedly devastated after learning that his ex-wife’s 11-year-old, Kile Glover, was injured after being struck by a Jet Ski. The preteen is now said to be brain dead in a local Atlanta hospital.
While Usher has yet to make an official statement on Kile’s condition, the New York Post reports that he’s canceled a scheduled appearance. Raymond was supposed to be a presenter tonight at the annual Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly or ESPY awards. He will not be present, however, now that he’s reportedly despondent over his stepson’s condition.
Lately, the singer and Tameka have been locked in a nasty custody battle over their two sons, Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd, 3. The accident with Kile, however, is said to have made them much more amicable.”Tameka and Usher don’t get along, but in this circumstance, Usher is coming to her side,” reports US Weekly. “Usher practically raised Kyle as his own. He’s known him for seven years. It is so sad what happened.”
Before canceling tonight’s ESPY appearance, the last time Usher was seen on television was at the 2012 BET awards. –danielle canada
