Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin was officially named Mitt Romney’s running mate on Aug. 11, 2012. Though Romney accidentally introduced him as the country’s next president during the announcement in Norfolk, Va., Ryan is, of course, the Republican candidate for vice president.
