Twitter has become a tool for expanded communication and a way for breaking news and ideas that can be decimated to a mass group in a matter of seconds. The importance of Twitter followers has also been key. Celebrities, companies and individuals with an abundance of Twitter followers are often seen as influencers and, at times, are paid to promote products and events.

However, a lot of people, including celebs,  are buying fake followers to boost their  Twitter influence. A new app called statuspeople.com is revealing who really has a large amount of followers against those who are followed mostly by fake profiles.
