George Foreman: The Black Millionaire Blueprint for Success

George Foreman: The Black Millionaire Blueprint for Success

The Rumble in the Jungle:

Much like when Ali faced Sonny Liston, people thought he was crazy to enter the ring with the seemingly unbreakable Foreman, who easily pummeled the men who beat Ali. This is one of Ali’s most famous fights, taking place in the African nation of Zaire in 1974, where he invented the “rope-a-dope” style where he would lean on the ring and let Foremen tire himself out throwing wild haymakers for the first seven rounds. Though Foreman’s punches hurt occasionally (Ali said he was “out on my feet” a couple of times in the iconic fight), Ali’s strategy of tiring Foreman out worked perfectly. Ali’s unmatchable punching accuracy was Foreman’s doom and he was knocked out for the first time in his pro career.
