Black CNN Camerawoman Who Had Peanuts Thrown at Her at RNC Speaks Out

The black CNN camerawoman who had peanuts thrown at her during the Republican National Convention, and then told “this is how we feed the animals,” has spoken out for the first time.

Patricia Carroll was working the convention floor at the GOP convention in Tampa, Fla. when two conventioneers threw peanuts at her and shouted racial epithets.

Carroll took pains to avoid having this incident politicized and, in an interview with Richard Prince’s Journal-isms of the Maynard Institute, she said she was not surprised that it happened.

“I hate that it happened, but I’m not surprised at all,” Carroll said in her first and only interview she wants to do on the subject.
