'Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution' Movie Review

Why mothers should take their daughters to see this movie.

It was a great thrill to watch Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution, a documentary about the famed fashion show “The Battle of Versailles.” Director Deborah Riley Draper does a good job bringing details not previously documented, by using personal testimony, bringing to life the reality of race relations at that time, the fashion hierarchy and fashion history.  Despite having very little film footage of the event, I find myself visualizing every moment as if I was in the room with a camera myself. This is a great movie about fashion and triumph and I hope mothers will take their daughters to view a piece of history that needs to be seen. –necorey johnson
