The most lucrative business ventures start with an idea. It can be an idea that provides a solution to a problem or need, challenges the status quo or one that makes you ask, “why didn’t anyone think of this before?” Whether it comes from someone like Apple’s founder Steve Jobs, who started his entrepreneurial journey building blue boxes for phone phreakers or Madam CJ Walker, a pioneer in the black hair care industry, ideas can come in many forms and translate into profit.
CNN Money recently identified the top 10 states across the country for an entrepreneur to set his stake in the ground, put an in idea into motion and start a business. News reports have been citing that this economy is shaky, but according to the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity, the following states are home to many start-ups.
