10 Richest States in the Country
With the 2011 Census figures predicting that the poverty rate is on its way to the highest its been in nearly half a century, you may be wondering where the wealthy and well-off currently reside. Just this month, newly released figures showed that the median household income declined for the second straight year, but some states faired better than others. With that information financial news and opinion website 24/7 Wall Street identified the states whose income makes them among the nation’s “richest.” The majority of the richest states are on the east coast and only one ‘rich state’ is in the south.
