Chad Johnson Discusses Evelyn Lozada
After destroying his reputation and possibly his professional football career, Chad Johnson is speaking formally for the first time about his divorce from Evelyn Lozada. The former Miami Dolphin, who was unceremoniously let go from the team — on camera no less — appeared on “Inside the NFL” this week to talk about his failed marriage.
“First of all I had an altercation,” said Johnson. “An altercation with my wife and the consequences of my altercation with my wife was me being released. I lost two things that I love: football and being married. Being a husband, being a lover was an honor. And I lost that. They have that saying, ‘You never know what you have until it’s gone.’ And now I finally know what they mean.”
On Wednesday, Sept. 19, a divorce settlement was finalized between the estranged partners and Lozada was said to be ecstatic. She’s since taken to posting new photos on her social network accounts and has maintained that she’s not spoken to the man who head butted her during an August disagreement.
“I take full responsibility for everything,” said Johnson when asked who was to blame. “Always will. Always have. Where do I go from here? I gotta work on Chad. Chad has to work on Chad. Chad has to go deep down inside and figure out where you went wrong. … There was a time where, when I touched that field Sunday, you knew what time it was. At some point, I had drifted off track away from that.”
Johnson would later reveal that he’s been taking anger management classes to learn how to “channel” his anger. Check out Chad on “Inside the NFL” below. —danielle canada
