“Studies show that it takes battered women an average of seven attempts to leave their abuser and stay gone. Also, more than 70% of women killed by their abusive partner are murdered as they are trying to escape, often with their children. Rhianna is very early in this cycle of painful, dangerous discovery about her safety with this person she obviously loves. What is really disturbing is the greater public focus is on her ill behavior and not on Brown’s, along with the fact that he has apparently been welcomed back into the entertainment industry despite his hugely destructive, illegal behavior. A quick scan of Twitter reveals there a set of people who simply haven’t let go of the past events.”
