Rolling out and CVS/pharmacy partnered to host the inaugural 2012 Mirror Mirror Beauty Awards in Atlantato highlight 20 of the most prominent and recognized style makers in the beauty and entertainment industries. Honoree Lois Reid-Hines is the VP and co-founder Tropic Isle Living, home of the original Jamaican Black Castor Oil – health and beauty aide in a bottle. Twenty years ago, Hines bottled one gallon of Jamaican black castor oil, placed them in her tote bag and visited many business owners in her Bronx, N.Y., community to educate them on its endless benefits. They loved it. “Tropic Isle Living is the original and the best brand out there. We’re tried and true. All of our products are organic and don’t contain any sulfate or petroleum jelly.” Giving back, they’ve developed the castor oil industry in Jamaica — providing employment to people to sustain their families.
