During her “MDNA Tour,” Queen of Pop Madonna has been stirring up a little controversy. She’s protesting the brutal attack of young Pakistani education activist, Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head for criticizing the Taliban.
The 14-year-old was confronted on her school bus and shot at point blank range with a 9mm pistol for blogging about the importance of education for young girls. Masked bike-riding gunmen stopped the bus and demanded to know “Who is Malala?” The Taliban confessed to the shooting, saying Malala was promoting Western thinking and was against the soldiers of Allah and the Taliban. Malala is in critical condition.
During the segue to her single “Human Nature” at a concert this week at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, Madonna stripped down to her underwear to show her support, which left Pakistanis infuriated and feeling disrespected. They went on a Twitter tirade bashing the pop star striptease.
Madonna is also using her tour as a platform to rally her fans to support Obama by demanding they vote for “the black Muslim in the White House.” Reportedly, she intended this statement ironically.
