Bessie Stringfield, (1911-1993)
My riding heroine Bessie Stringfield is among only 18 women to have been inducted into the American Motorcyclist Association’s Hall of Fame. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she was the first African American female motorcyclist to ride the United States solo.
