Applicants Guide for the 2012 NBMBAA Scholarship Program

The National Black MBA Association has more than 8,000 members and represents more than 95,000 MBA graduates. By the year 2013 The National Black MBA Association will be the premier business organization serving black professionals and will lead in the creation of educational opportunities and economic growth for blacks.

The Houston Chapter of the National Black MBA Association offers annual scholarships to assist  Houstonians as well as undergraduate business and MBA students attending a university in the greater Houston area. Over the years, the Houston chapter of the NBMBAA has awarded over $250,000 in scholarships to African American students.


To apply for the NBMBAA Houston Chapter Undergraduate and MBA scholarship program you must meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants must be an African American student currently enrolled in an undergraduate business or management program with sophomore, junior, or senior status.


2. Applicants must attend a Houston area college/university or be a native of Houston and attend any university within the continental United States.

3. Applicants must be enrolled during the fall semester to receive awards disbursed by Dec. 31.

4. All applications must mail an official stamped college transcript, NBMBAA scholarship application and essay no later than Nov. 24. Any incomplete applications and essays will not be reviewed or considered.
