How did your career at Nordstrom assist with your transition into music?
My career at Nordy only got in the way; working a 9-to-5 prohibits you in every way. Paid shows pop up all over the country, at any time. Sacrifices have to be made in this music field; you either want it or you don’t. It’s a tough choice especially if you’ve got bills, kids etc.
Was it worth the gamble?
I’ve been around the world. I’m on every major top 10 list for music, whether it’s top 10 mixtape or top producers. I am a success story.
What is your best advice to future artists, based on your personal philosophy?
Find something that you are good at or something that makes you happy and do it. Do it til’ you’re satisfied.
If you weren’t doing music, what would you be doing?
Only God knows. Probably stuck selling designer shoes making great money but hating it.
