Award-winning journalist Gwen Ifill will lead a discussion with the founder of Motown records in An Evening with Berry Gordy, to be taped live for airing on PBS-TV. Kem, Valerie Simpson, Janelle Monae and the cast of Motown the Musical will perform, and Stefan Gordy — known to the music world as Redfoo — one-half of the hip-hop musical group, LMFAO, will also be on board. Executive producer: Julieanna Richardson, founder and executive director of The HistoryMakers, serves as executive producer. Ray Chew, music director for American Idol, serves as the show’s music producer.
