Bob Giraldi, the legendary commercial TV director who also directed the groundbreaking classic “Beat It” video was hurt that Michael chose to reach out for John Landis to direct the “Thriller” video instead of him. Giraldi is said that have made the best videos for the likes of Lionel Ritchie (“Running with the Night”) and Pat Benetar (“Love is a Battlefield”) and “Say, Say, Say” for Paul McCartney and Jackson.
