The opening track on arguably the greatest, purest hip hop album ever made; the percussive opening seconds of this classic track sets the stage for Rakim’s cool-as-ice flow. His “pump up the volume” is one of the most sampled lines in hip hop history and its one of the few times this infamous duo crafted a track that fit on the dancefloor.
