5. Killer Mike R.A.P. Music

If truth sold, Killer Mike would’ve had a breakout year that was on par with 2 Chainz’s impressive comeback. However, Killer Mike remains a staple of the underground. But there is no denying the significance of his 2012 release R.A.P. Music. The album is Straight Outta Compton meets AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted. With production handled by El P, Killer Mike goes after the political structure in a way that sounds fresh without falling into the same traps that troubled Lupe’s latest effort.
