A disturbing breach of contract lawsuit was filed in Manhattan Federal Court on Friday involving Nas and a New Jersey concert promoter.
Concert promoter Patrick Allocco booked Nas to perform for a New Year’s Eve concert in Angola back 2011.
Nas pocketed the $300,000 advance, but did not perform.
When Nas did not show up to perform, Angolan authorities took Allocco and his son into custody—and they were prohibited from leaving the country until the money was returned.
The promoter and his son were detained in Angola for 50 days.
Nas returned the money, but Allocco has since lost his company.
Reports TMZ: “Allocco claims that he was beaten and threatened during his detainment and that he suffered psychologically, physically and financially.”
Allocco previously launched a Facebook campaign asking Nas to ‘do the right thing’ and is now suing for $10 million.
