Authentic Hip Hop by LL Cool J
Since 2009’s forgettable Exit 13, James Todd Smith has focused more on his acting career than music. But he’s making a hip hop comeback in 2013, with an album audaciously titled Authentic Hip Hop. It’s also his first ever project to not be released on Def Jam Recordings. Despite losing some of his artistic credibility in the 2000s, LL managed to still churn out hits. With an album title that seems to indicate a return to his musical roots, the legendary rapper better hope it reinvigorates his audience.
