Blue Ivy celebrates 1st birthday
Arguably the most popular celebrity tot of 2012, Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter is turning 1 today. Blue Ivy Carter who was birthed January 7, 2012 at New York’s Lenox Hill hospital, has been a hot topic of conversation since her birth, so much so that her parents created a website giving the world her first pictures free of charge. HelloBlueIvyCarter.Tumblr included a note from the Carters asking paparazzi to respect the privacy of the tiny infant. “We welcome you to share in our joy,” read the note.”Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives.”
That, of course, did not happen and baby Blue was constantly hounded by photogs much like her superstar parents. In August a media frenzy ensued when paparazzi photographed her uncovered face while on a shopping trip with her mother.
Now, months later Beyoncé and Jay seem to be more open to sharing photos of their daughter, in December Bey released two new snaps of her baby girl.
In the most recent Blue Ivy news, the tot is said to have a $1 million nursery at her father’s Barclays Center. The nursery is actually a basement suite rented out by Jay-Z that is filled with her baby toys and gear. Blue’s VIP space is the most expensive of the 11 suites to rent in the arena. No word yet on whether Bey and Jay will share new photos of Blue to commemorate her first birthday.
