LaTavia and LeToya had been replaced with Farrah Franklin and Michelle Williams. Farrah, of black and Italian descent, along with Beyoncé’s French Creole heritage made the group more exotic at best. Originally hired as an extra for the video “Say My Name,” she toured with the group for six months and providing backing vocals on singles “Jumpin’ Jumpin'” and “Independent Women Part 1,” which were removed before the album was released, “Dot” and “Dance with Me.” The lineup changes again. Farrah was fired from the group for reportedly missing tour dates, which was unbeknownst to her until she saw it on MTV.
