The newest rising star on Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group imprint took the stage at SOB’s in New York City this week looking to make his presence felt.
Rockie Fresh announced himself as an artist to be reckoned with at Hot 97’s latest “Who’s Next” showcase, which premieres new talents and fresh faces. Presented by XXL and Hot 97, the series logged another stellar entry on this wintery night, and host Peter Rosenberg and featured opening acts Lunice, Sasha Go Hard and Sir Michael Rocks.
Chicago hip-hop was definitely represented.
Fresh off of the release of his first mixtape, “Electric Highway,” and with MMG “Bawse” Ross and hip-hop star Busta Rhymes looking on from VIP, Rockie was a perfect candidate to be featured on the SOBs stage and should have broken out and exploded with ferocity.
SOB’s can be an unforgiving venue. Did Rockie measure up?
