Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar’s label mate at TDE Records, will be the next L.A. rapper to gain prominence. Similar to Kendrick Lamar, he’s a vivid storyteller and has a knack for rapping about the street corners, astrology, girls and black power theories within the same verse. He’s complex lyrically, but knows how to craft a good song. His latest mixtape Control System was an impressive piece of work.
