'Rolling out' and The Steed Society honored by Texas Association of Partners in Education

Rolling out and The Steed Society were honored in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday, Jan. 29 by the Texas Association of Partners in Education for its community involvement through The Steed Society Junior Youth Initiative mentorship program. The program helps to connect female students at Jack Yates Senior High School with the Female Success Factor business seminar Top 25 Women of Houston corporate, civic, and nonprofit entrepreneur award recipients. The program requires a commitment of two, two-hour workshop sessions per month at the campus and select Houston sites throughout the school year.

Linda Jones, TAPE executive board vice president and Texas Southern University faculty member,  provided the welcome: “[The goal of] the Texas Association of Partners in Education is to provide leadership and expertise for schools, families, businesses and communities to build partnerships that enhance student success. Our award recipients have helped to strengthen student success through volunteer, community and business [and] school partnerships. They have enhanced the success of young people in our Texas area schools and encouraged them to be responsible citizens who significantly contribute to the economic, civic, and social environment in which they live and work. We here at TAPE are privileged to have such amazing partnerships in our community.”
