Tahj Mowry has always been the baby in his famous acting family, but in recent years, he’s become more than just a baby brother to Tia and Tamera Mowry, he’s become an uncle to their kids as well. And though his sisters may have set up the blueprint for him on how to have a career and family, Mowry says he’s far from ready to be a dad.
“I’m in no rush,” Mowry said in a recent interview with Sister 2 Sister. “I’m taking the steps. I have a girlfriend, so that’s good.”
And Mowry isn’t just taking care of kids in his private life, he’s also working with kids on the set of his ABC Family show, “Baby Daddy,” in which he plays a surrogate father to his best friend’s child.
“So I’m constantly surrounded by babies,” Mowry said, “and I do not want my own right now. There’s something so great about being with your nephew and when you’re tired, just handing him off back to your sister.”
And though Mowry definitely loves his nephews, he says they’re a pleasant reminder of why he’s not ready to be a dad.
“I always joke with people that having nephews is the best birth control there is,” he said.
Mowry also says that he wants to be married when he has kids, just like his sisters.
“The marriage will definitely come before the baby, not just because that’s the way I want it, but my mom would beat my a– if that happened,” he joked.
