DMX gets arrested in South Carolina

Dark Man X always seems to find his way into handcuffs.

Hip-hop star DMX was busted in South Carolina on Feb. 13 for driving without a license. According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, X was recognized by a deputy at an establishment called the Lil Cricket on Gap Creek Road around 1 a.m.

The deputy saw X walked out of the store, get into his car and drive away. The rapper, born Earl Simmons, already faced several charges relating to driving without a license, so the deputy immediately pulled him over. The 42-year old star only had a state I.D. card on his person and was subsequently taken into custody.

DMX was reportedly released after paying a fine.

X has become infamous for run-ins with the law over the past decade. He attempted a musical comeback last year after serving time in prison and seeking treatment for substance abuse issues. His ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, is currently starring on the reality series, “Starter Wives Confidential.”
