Ex-Portland Trail Blazers player Matthew White, 53, was allegedly stabbed to death in his sleep by his wife after she caught him looking at child pornography. Maria Rey Garcia-Pellon is said to have used two knives to kill her husband after she caught him watching child porn of a young girl.
“I caught him looking at pornography, young girls, I love kids. I had to do it,” Garcia-Pellon, 52, reportedly told police, court documents showed.
After the attack, Garcia-Pellon changed her clothes and went to a friend’s house where she confessed to her alleged crime. Police were called to the couple’s home and White was indeed found dead in his bed. When the wife arrived at the home, officers arrested her and charged her with first- and third-degree murder.
White is also known for his time on the University of Pennsylvania’s basketball team that led the Penn Quakers to the Final Four in 1979′s NCAA Tournament. White also spent 12 years playing in Spain.
