Chris Brown and Rihanna inspire 'SVU': 5 other made-for-TV couples

They say the greatest love stories of the stuff of legends, but Chris Brown and Rihanna’s love story is so legendary — and, apparently, so amazingly tragic — that it’s now garnered its own plot on a controversial new episode of “Law & Order: SVU.”

NBC recently began promotion of an upcoming episode of the show, called “Funny Valentine,” which tells the “familiar story” of a young black pop star who is involved in an abusive relationship with her black hip-hop star boyfriend.

The official episode description says,

“A promising singer is brutally attacked by her boyfriend, a popular hip-hop star. ADA Barba (guest star Raul Esparza) works to build a case, but the victim refuses to aid the prosecution and, despite Detective Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) best efforts, continues to put herself in danger. The case quickly spirals into a media circus, perpetrated by both the defendant and his uncompromising attorney.”

The episode, which will air on Feb. 27, will guest star Perez Hilton, Wendy Williams (both of whom have been vocal about Brown and Rihanna) and Dave Navarro.

We could say that the episode is just too soon to be tasteful, but considering the several fans, bloggers, media outlets, superstars, activists, religious figures, pro wrestlers, district attorneys, concerned parents, etc. who have all cast their judgment on Chrianna’s relationship, it’s just too late to be too soon.

But they’re not the only outrageous couples with made-for-TV romances. We’re going to leave the risqué crime drama plots to NBC, but these other couples below could definitely inspire their own dramatic and outrageous reality TV shows. –nicholas robinson
