Don’t Be a Menace

The Wayans brothers turned the gangsta film genre on its proverbial head with the release of Don’t Be a Menace. They poked fun at things that were considered cool in the hood and made viewers realize how dumb it looked to sag your pants; join a gang; and perpetuate the life of a gangster. Sadly, rappers continue to influence some of those negative aspects. But watching Don’t Be a Menace today can, again, make us laugh at some rappers who just don’t get that the joke is on them.
