R&B newcomer Love Dominique debuts her ‘Wicked Heart’ EP

What inspired the title for this project?

When I first started writing the songs for Wicked Heart, I noticed that a lot of them were about me allowing my emotions to guide me down bad or forbidden paths so I started telling myself “to charge it to my wicked heart” and it just stuck as a theme for the entire project.

What kind of vibe can we expect to hear on Wicked Heart?

Wicked Heart is sexy and bold, so you should expect to hear flirty lyrics and hip hop inspired production. I wanted Wicked Heart to really reflect my sound and who I am as an artist so I did not have any collaborations. I did, however, work with three awesome producers. DJ Motivation, who I’ve worked with before, produced my single “Down.” He and I have great chemistry, so he was familiar with the vibe that I was going for. I also worked with DJ J Black on “Goin Hard” and producer Skrewface Radio on “Old Thing Back Freestyle.” All three are new up and coming producers, so I am very excited for my fans to hear what we were able to do on this EP.

What sets you apart from other female artists who are out right now?

I believe that the way that I deliver my records is different. I am very aware of my sound and my vocal ability so I’m not afraid to try different things with my voice.

Why do you think you have been so successful in the UK?

I think DJs have picked up my songs out there because they like the vibe. It’s R&B but you can still fit it in the mix. They [UK DJs] were actually the first DJs to support my songs and help build my fan base to where it is know.

Which single will you debut off the EP?

I am currently promoting my single “Down” from the Wicked Heart EP, but I have already started working on Wicked Heart Vol. 2.
