Other than the fact that comedian D.L. Hughley was dissected like a medical school corpse for his uninspiring dance performance — and that Tom Joyner picked him to win the competition — the premiere of “Dancing with the Stars” 2013 opened up to great fanfare and riveting performances by celebrities paired with professional dancers.
The emotional high of the show happened when Dorothy Hamill awed the audience and judges alike with her routine with her partner. The 1976 Olympic gold medalist was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago.
It was mostly celebrities who responded on Twitter to what popped on the show, including a rather caustic exchange between comedian D.L. Hughley and television talk show host Wendy Williams. Take a look at what they and others had to say about the opening day of DWTS 2013:
I think D.L. Hughley will be first to go. What do you think? #DWTS
